Rachel Clay's
Testimony
My name is Rachel Clay and I am 22 years old, I live in Oklahoma City with my
grandparents. I am going to share a testimony with you.
I was born on March 10, 1986, I weighed three pounds and was diagnosed with
Seckel Syndrome. For those of you who do not know what Seckel Syndrome is it is
a rare genetic disorder that is associated with Primordial Dwarfism. I lived in
Tracy California with my mom. When I was 9 1/2 years old my mom became sick and
died, nobody told me about her death, so I did not know, also I was so young
that I did not understand what death was. I then came to live with my
grandparents in Oklahoma City, that was in the summer of 1995. In 1996 I got
saved at Baptist Temple Church. I have had many health problems associated with
Seckel Syndrome wich includes scoliosis, and I have also had two surgeries which
were quite necessary. The first one was in 2003, to remove an ovary and a
taritoma tumor which is a fatty, hairy, and has teeth. Then in November 2007 I
had caught a cold and missed about three days of college had to go to the
emergency room and ended up having a major surgery for the diagnosis of
Intussusception, which is when the small intestines telescopes inside itself. I
also had a sac filled with milky fluid, and they also had to remove about 5 1/2
inches of my small intestines.
But wait a minute, In August 2007 a couple of months before I got sick, my
grandfather got real sick after falling and was as white as a ghost he was
rushed by an ambulance to the hospital and had lost 3/4 of his blood he was
bleeding from his stomach. He spent a couple of weeks in the ICU and then was
transferred to the rehab floor, while in the rehab floor he had to have his
gallbladder removed which was gangrene and it fell apart in the surgeons hands.
Since then he had to have a feeding tube put in because he refused to eat
anything. He finally came home in October.
My grandfather and I are finally going to church now that we are physically able
to go with exception to all the bad weather we are having, including the Ice
storm we had. I praise God and Pray every day that the trials we have had to
face we got through them and that He said that He will not give us more than we
are able.
Rachel Clay - U.S.A.
