PRAISE BREAKS THE CHAINS!
Exodus 17:10 So Joshua
did as Moses had said to him, and fought with Amalek: and Moses, Aaron, and
Hur went up to the top of the hill. 11And it came to pass, when Moses held up
his hand, that
Israel prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed.
As long as Moses raised his hands they were winning, but when they were
down they would begin to lose!
Let's continue to always praise God, no matter how bad the enemy is
attacking.
1 Timothy 2:8I
will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath
and doubting.
Psalm 141:2
Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my
hands as the evening sacrifice
Hebrews 12:12a
Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down
If we continue to lift our hands in prayer and praise we will have the
victory. Why do you think the enemy tries to keep you from praying? Why does
he fight praise and worship so much? Its because he knows how powerful it is.
So lift your hands and your voice: go up to that mountain of praise and lift
His name on high!
Exodus 17:12 But Moses hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and
put it under him, and he sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands,
the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were
steady until the going down of the sun.
Moses couldn’t hold up his hands until the end of day alone. If they had
not held Moses hands up, they would have lost the battle. Just
as Aaran and Hur held up Moses arms, we also need to hold up our pastors,
leaders, brothers and sisters in the Lord. Our prayers and praise can bring
the victory!
Hebrews 13:15By
him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that
is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.
Paul and Silas probably did not feel much like praising God when they were
beaten and thrown in prison. But in their spirit they wanted to lift him up.
Acts 16:25 And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises
unto God: and the prisoners heard them.26And suddenly there was a great
earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately
all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed.
When Paul and Silas prayed and sang to the Lord and the chains fell off.
Sometimes in our midnight hour we just need to pray and praise God until all
that holds us bound is loosed !
Praise is so powerful it will shake the foundation of our prison and loose
the bands that hold us captive! It will shake the enemy for he trembles at the
sound of praise! He hates praise. He wanted the worship for himself. Praise
and worship will send him on the run.
Psalm 8:2Out
of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of
thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.
Praise breaks the chains of bondage and sets captives free. Not only for
us, but even those around us are influenced when they see what the Lord has
done for us and they can be set free too!
When we praise and pray, doors that have been closed are suddenly opened!
When Peter was in prison they prayed for him and he was freed.
Acts 12:7 And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a
light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up,
saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands. 8And the
angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And
he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me. 9And he went
out, and followed him; and wist not that it was true which was done by the
angel; but thought he saw a vision. 10When they were past the first and the
second ward, they came unto the iron gate that leadeth unto the city; which
opened to them of his own accord: and they went out, and passed on through one
street; and forthwith the angel departed from him.
Psalm 22:3But
thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of
Israel.
When we lift Him up He will come and do what He wills. And what is his
will?
1 John 3:8b
For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the
works of the devil.
Luke 4:18The
Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the
gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach
deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at
liberty them that are bruised, 19To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
When He is lifted up He
comes on the scene. The gifts of the Spirit begin to move. The anointing and
power of God begin to work.
